Hello to all of you, I´ve just joined today to this nice website My name is Joaquin from Spain. I´ve got a question, I would like to be visiting UK with my caravan for one year and I would like to leave my caravan in Manchester airport parking to return to Spain when necessary and come back. Do you think that would be possible leaving the motorhome in the long stay parking? Would it be any problem? I did the same a couple of years ago in Germany and I used to leave it in Munich airport and there werent any problems, but I´m not sure about UK. Thanks for your answers!

Hi Joaquin and welcome to the site. Personally I wouldn't want to leave a motorhome in an airport car park for any length of time. Coming from the south of England I don't know what Manchester Airport is like, but if it is anything like the airports in this area, I would be very worried about it being damaged or broken into. I once worked on the car-park shuttle buses at Luton Airport, and the security of the long term car park there relied on the bus drivers looking for any trouble on their way round. In other words, it was virtually non-existent!

I would have thought it would be better, and probably much cheaper, to find a caravan site near the airport and leave your motorhome in storage there. You could then get a taxi to the airport.

I certainly wouldn't leave my vehicle at Manchester airport, my boss's car was damaged when he left it there a while ago when he went on holiday

From there it is quick to get a bus to Piccadilly Station, then a train to the airport.

I would try to find a suitable caravan/motorhome storage facility in the area where you want to leave your motorhome.
I am assuming you do not have a Caravan Club or Camping & Caravanning Club membership. Many of these sites do have storage facilities and I would think there must be one or two in the Manchester area. Don't know if they permit storage by non-members.
