Funny that I should spot this today. We have just put ours back on the van after being away for 4 weeks using the main awning. One end of the zip has started to unravel - the actual plastic "teeth". We have zipped it right across using the remaining zip tag and then cable tied the open end. Infuriating though. I can see the thing being of little use if the zip goes further. It's too big to transport separately.
------------- Freedom is a light caravan and an open road.
Silicone spray also works. The canopy needs to be tightly rolled otherwise it strains the bag zipping it up. Put on the Velcro then try to tighten the roll a little bit more and reapply the Velcro. Pencil graphite rubbed on zip is yet another tip.
You may be able to buy a new bag and get a saddler, shoemaker etc to attach the canopy.
Has anyone tried getting a saddler / shoemaker etc to stitch zips to the canopy of a non caravanstor zip canopy to make it work with caravanstor zip sides??
We bought a complete caravanstor zip 2.8m awning which is fine as a porch. We acquired a caravanstor non zip 4 meter canopy with a side but it would be a winner to be able to use the sides from the zip on the non zip canopy if that makes sense??
