Hi
I have just been offered a storage area for my van in Ilkeston.
26' foot twin axle.
Was kept on a neighbours front, also down side of my house, but gets in way at times.
Secure site CCTV.
Locked gates and large steel fence.
£1.00 a day = £365 a year.
Hi, sounds about right to me, but it often depends on facilities offered, as regards security, some have a tow in and out of storage service, others have a washing facility. Also area and local competition makes a difference. So I don't think you are far a drift. At the price quoted.
Hi Ray,
As others have said about the going rate, some a lot more costly, some cheaper but not the security provided.
The way it is now you are lucky to have been offered a slot as an awful lot of people are chasing a space these days.
I massively underestimated the size of our caravan when we bought it and couldn't comfortably get it on the drive. Never mind said I, we'll just put it in storage. Have to say I wasn't expecting it to be so expensive or hard to find. £350 - £400 seems to be the norm around here. I had one particularly snobby guy ask me how old the caravan is, when I told him it was 1998 model he laughed and said there was no way he'd have a caravan that old on his land!!!
I eventually found a place by accident. A gravelled farmers field with a card accessed gate and alarmed perimeter fence for the princely sum of £250 a year. Only problem is he's been told he has to have planning permission so may have to close if this doesn't come through which will mean approximately 100 caravan owners looking for alternative storage
