We have a Truma mover on our van, twin axle van with a single mover (we were badly advised) My question is can the mover be converted to a twin mover or do we need a whole new one. I can’t really justify the spend on a new one and although I know I can reverse the van in to space if I have enough room and visibility, I get really nervous that I’ll make a total mess of it when everyone is looking on and my kids are going wild and I can’t concentrate. The single mover is useless at getting it round corners.

Not sure about it being possible to convert a single mover to a double one - suppose it could be possible if the the two units could be programmed to respond as a double unit. Can't imagine it being cheap whatever the way forward.
The other year we were pitched next to a couple with a twin axle and twin mover, but it still required an effort to get the van to turn. Because the axles are rigid, the van still wants to go in a straight line. In this case the procedure was for one to operate the movers, whilst the other pushed sideways against on handle, and us helping by swinging on two other handles. This got the van to turn slightly and several forward and reverse moves were needed to get the van around by the amount required.
I have no experience with twin axles, so don't know if this is a normal problem or not.
Bertie.

Hi, the tip to help manoeuvre a twin axle when off the car is to get the jockey wheel assembly down into the A frame as far as possible then raise caravan with jockey wheel as high as possible being careful not to separate the two parts of jockey wheel. This Takes as much weight as possible off the front wheels. Initially you may need to raise caravan on the jockey wheel then support caravan on front steadies to give room to get jockey wheel into A. Frame as far as you can.

This would worry me if on soft ground. Taking the jockey wheel to that length could cause bending under load if the wheel met strong resistance. I'm not doubting that it would work, but it does sound a bit iffy.

What would happen if one side was on rear wheel and other side on front wheel. I just wonder if this would help with the turning.

Hi,. Just pointing out how we manoeuvred them around our yard admittedly on concrete base, also used jockey wheel to that extent with our single axle to get on several pitches we have used with motor mover.

Yes we did the jockey wheel thing before and damaged it, ours is not within the A frame its at the side. We tried an inflatable tyre on the jockey hoping it would give us a bit more height and bounce but we knackered that too. It is a case of one person on the control and two to manhandle it round and from what you say its not much different with a double mover so not worth the expense. looks like I will just have to hope I don't get in to a tight spot when I'm on my own.

I’ll do some googling about it, I presume they can be linked up then rather than trying to coordinate 2 controllers.
