Hi we have a coachman amara . The other night we turned the awning light on .Next morning we tried turning it off no way could we get it to turn off we had to disconnect the electric and battery as the bulbs were that hot we couldn't touch them . They are very small push in bulbs . We have taken the bulbs out so we now have no awning light . Has anyone got any idea how to fix this problem Also is it a fault on coachman vans thanks from Maggie
There are various versions of awning lights that have been fitted to the Amara over the years.
On the earlier models the awning light had an ON/OFF rocker switch fitted below the lens then later versions had the switch inside the caravan so the year of caravan manufacture or a link showing which awning light will help.
It sounds very much like the switch itself is at fault but it depends if the switch is independent of the light or not.

Hi it is a 2010 amara and the switch is on a panel inside the van it has the pump switch and the battery switch master andon it there are about 5switches on it we managed to unclip the panel and pull off the connecters but it stayed on thats why we ended up disconecting battery and elec to take the bulbs out. Not sure how to add a pic to the post . Hope this helps thanks
I have the same van same age, my last coachman had the same light as well. Never had a problem with either, & for the life of me I ain’t a clue how you’ve got the light lense of to get to the bulbs

If you have pulled the connectors off the light switch and the light is still on, that suggests a relay is involved. It sounds like this relay has stuck.
