when I pack up and disconnect the water pump, I get water slowly flowing back out of the fresh water inlet. Should there be a non return valve somewhere to prevent this, and if so where would I find it? I have a Truma pump that is inserted in the Aquaroll.

There'll be a non return valve inside the van near to the entry point, it sounds like its gunged up.
Do you also get water spluttering from the hot tap?

Cleaning the water system regularly can help prevent it.

If it's a pistol grip type pump and you have a charcoal filter, it's just the water running out of the filter housing.

There is a non return valve in the system usually located at the hot water tank so when you disconnect the pump at the pump inlet it's just the remaining water left in the water pipe (about half egg cup full) between the housing and the non return valve. Nothing to worry about as this is quite normal. Not unless the water is a constant trickle after the pump is removed but then you would have issues with the system not pressurising.

If you google "truma non return valve" you should see a (usually blue) non-returns valve, it easy to replace as they're john guest couplings.

I would advise buying the spring loaded one. The ordinary one is not very good in my experience.

I also advised fitting a spring loaded in the past, but as I posted in another forum a while ago, fitting a non return into the pickup pipe is much better and much cheaper
