Hi can anyone help. I currently have a 2005 Gobur clubman with a Powrtouch series 1 that has a fault with one of the motors. Before I get it repaired I was considering upgrading to the latest version of powrtouch however with it being a Gobur it's not straight forward.
I'm looking for anyone who knows a mobile mover fitted/Company with a good reviews who has delt with Gobur caravans.
I'm willing to let Gobur themselves do the work but it means taking the van to Norfolk and back in a day. Bit of a ask at the moment
Any suggestions most welcome.
Repairing a motor mover is not too difficult, the hardest part is removing it to get access to the various parts and also finding a supplier for some parts.
I just repaired mine and refitted it,for me it was quite hard work as I suffer from multi joint oesteoarthritis but I managed!

Have you thought about contacting Powrtouch? I had problems with my motormover (not Powrtouch) and my manufacturer sent me details of what the problem could be and how to fix it. I needed new brushes on the motor and I was able to do the job myself. Once I knew what to do it was quite easy.....and I'm no mechanic. Although it was still under warranty the installer was not interested.
The problem with Powertouch is that they may point you in the right direction but if it is a problem with the drive mechanism/motor or gearbox they will only sell you a complete motor/drive unit for £150.
You can get some items such as brushes but not a replacement motor or gearbox or drive coupler.

i recently fitted a new powetouch motor i think the motor alone was £150.. it was only a seized up dry bearing but the corrosion would have made it impossible to just replace the bearing..
powetouch are relatively good for parts but they are expensive..
