Hi i have just purchased the above van in the battery locker behind the hook up plug there is an orange key I have no idea what purpose it serves any advice would be much appreciated thanks in advance.

Hi Ray, sounds to me it's the battery isolator key for a motor mover. If the van hasn't got a mover it's probably been removed by the previous owner.

Thank you yes it does have a motor mover fitted do you know if the hook up will work when the leisure battery is disconnected

Yes it will work but whether it's a good idea to do so is another matter.
You must not try to use the mover with no battery. You will damage the charger.

Some van manufacturers say you can operate without a battery and others say you must not. It really depends upon the type of charger you have, Some are a Power Supply Unit suitable for use without a battery and others are chargers which need a battery.
