Hi All. I've just bought a 2011 model elddis vogue 302. Got it home and bought a brand new Whale water master pump. Connected the mains lead and, no joy. When I checked the consumer unit,I found the 10amp fuse had blown. Replaced it and it immediately blew again. I'm at a loss as to what it could be. Could anyone give me any pointers as to the problem?

It should only draw around 4 amps, so it could be faulty.

Did the old water pump blow the fuse?

Have you got a leisure battery fitted? I'm a bit confused by your mention of connecting the mains lead.

Sometimes the impeller can stick on the pump (even with new ones)and can overload, make sure its free.

Hi Rob & Tina. Yep, leisure battery fitted but flat. So, connected to the mains via the inlet used when on sites.

Hi GCMS. Yes they are 12v. Does your pump work when you use the hookup site lead? The electrics run through a transformer.I done a bulb test last night,as was suggested,and the 12v bulb lit up without blowing the fuse.
Now,I think,not being an electrician,that this points to the brand new submersible pump,(Which is going back to camping international today).
Will keep you all posted on the outcome.

Hi all. The water pump went back to camping international for a full refund of £58. eBay £25, works BUT, I noticed a very slight leak on an elbow just before the inline non-returnable valve. All pushfits so, removed the elbow & put the pipe straight into the NRV. Why put an elbow in if it isn't necessary???
I also turned the pressure valve down a gnats, no more people's. Many thanks for all your advice. L&R x
