When we bought the new Skoda Superb we needed new mirrors. Got a pair of the Milenco ones from Leisure Sales. OH always said he thought they were going to fall off, didn’t seem a good enough fit to our wing mirrors. Anyway we were on A71 heading north yesterday when ,oops the drivers mirror literally flew off. We couldn’t stop as going too fast in heavy traffic. It flew onto grass verge. Today, on a d road same thing happened to the passenger one. It flew down the road but a kind driver retrieved it from his carriageway and left it for me on grass verge. I ran back for it!
We now need new mirrors , any recommendations? Oh doesn’t want the Milenco type screw on to edges of car mirrors!
I use Maypole strap-on mirrors on my Volvo. Been using them for several years now with no problems at all. Much cheaper than Milenco mirrors, and because the rubber straps go right round the back of my car's mirrors I have never had any concerns about them coming off.
Others on here don't like them, and say they vibrate too much, but I've never found this. Maybe it depends on the car and what its existing mirrors are like.

I've had Milenco Grand Aeros for four years now and they fit my current Merc E-Class Estate very well. Before that, they stayed well-stuck to my C-Class.
When I first bought the 'van I had mirrors that suckered onto the door mirrors. I hated them because the door mirrors were rendered useless.
I understand that Milenco sells different fixings for the Grand Aeros, so perhaps this would be the way forward. They are far-and-away the best mirrors on the market.

You need to do the inner tube mod on the Milencos:
That's a bit of 700c x 28mm inner tube stretched over the lower clamp. Makes an enormous difference to the grip, turning them from utterly useless to near-perfect on my cars.
The grand aero don't fit well on my range rover, the black trim on the mirrors isnt wide enough for them to grip, didn't know there was different grips you can get.
Scroll down to the bottom of this page for different mirror pads.

How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

I have a Skoda and use the Millenco, upside down and they work for me. If car has autofold wing mirrors, turn it off or the mirror bar would hit glass or door.
Hope this helps.
My Mileco mirror set up is similar to Troon's photo. Except that I recovered from an earlier set of mirrors a 'clamp' that fits between the two mirror grips shown, and has an adjustable rubber strap which stretches around the back of the mirror body, with a hook which fits under the bottom edge of the mirror.
This makes the whole assembly firmly in place.
The inner tube idea would not work for me, because the gap between mirror-glass edge and mirror body is not wide enough to accept the increased thickness by fitting the section of inner tube.
One variable to the problem is how far the extension mirrors protrude from the car's fixed mirrors. The further out they are, the more mechanical advantage the slipstream has to force them off.
