Hi everyone,
I'm hoping one of you more knowledgeable and experienced chap/chappess is able to help.
Three years ago we bought a 1988 Mardon Mystique 430/5. Having no experience we were a little naive and probably a little conned but, regardless, we fixed up her up, decorated her and have since had some wonderful memory making family holidays.
However, having two (speedily) growing boys we need to upgrade to something a bit larger and, obviously, want to sell our little "Mardy Arse" (as I named her). And herein lies our quandary. How much is she worth?
She had previously been the victim of a small amount of damp which we fixed. The only things that doesn't work is the water heater and, to be honest, the leisure battery has more or less given up the ghost.
Added to this, last year, not 20 minutes into a family break, our tyre blew on the motorway (it happens 😠). Whilst we were lucky it only blew at one side and we could limp to the nearest services where we replaced it, there was some damage to the underside of the van (but that didn't stop us enjoying our break).
We have repaired the underside and the water pipe which the floor went through (not as bad as it sounds), there is a small split in the side of the wooden unit that houses the cooker. It is in absolutely no way detrimental to anything and is probably very easy to fix.
Also, probably as a result of the impact of the tyre, there is a small amount of damage to the floor in the front corner, under the sofa. We were intending fixing this but are thinking that if selling it's possibly not worth our limited time especially if it's not going to make that much difference to the value.
We're loathed to scrap her because inside she's (in our humble opinion) lovely, still capable of being used and although a little scruffy on the exterior and can be made into a fabulous caravan for a couple or small family.
If anyone can offer us advice on either sale value or (praying to the caravan god's this is not the case) scrap value we would be really, really grateful.
With thanks in anticipation
