On electric hook up pitches have ours set on electric selected 8 amp and water set at 60.. If you want it to heat up quicker you can set it in electric and gas at the same time. But we have never had the need. It explains it all in the handbook. If you have not got one you can download it off the Swift handbook website.

Your water temp can be set to 40 or 60 degrees, but you should also have a boost setting which will heat the water faster and hotter. This is good for showers since the 'van only had 10 litres of hot water (which of course starts to cool down as soon as the boiler is replenished with cold water. Having the water as hot as possible means more cold is used at the shower mixer tap.
We find that this is plenty for two showers, using the navy method of soak, water off, soap then rinse

We use the shower in our Swift, I'm assuming yours will be much the same...Truma Combi 2?
If so, I agree with the above - set the hot water to 60 and Soak/Soap/Soak. Works pretty well I think. I've never bothered to set it to use both Gas and Electric to heat the water, we just wait a while for the water to reach temperature again, but it's good to know we can heat the water up more quickly if needed.
As for the water. If you're not going to use the shower, we sometimes just set the temp to 40 and top up with boiled water from the kettle to wash up. This is because the boiler unit is under the bed, and when set at 60, we find it gives off quite an amount of heat, not desirable on warmer nights.
