I know this has been discussed on some forums but didn't find the answer i want so....................
I have (like a lot of caravanners) a lot of "stuff" in my front locker and so getting anything out of there when we get to site such as electrical hookup cable, grey water pipes, awning pegs etc is a bit of a pain as i'm constantly having to move stuff around so i was looking to see if you can get an A Frame storage box which you can however what i wanted was one on a sort of quick release bracket ?
The reason for this is that i can put all the critical things in there i'll need when we first pull up but then once these bits are done then be able to remove it and put it on the floor so i can open the front locker ?
Most of the A Frame storage boxes i've found seem to be fixed on there via bolts so i don't want to have to get spanners out and remove nuts and bolts to get into the front locker so has either anyone come across such a box or have any ideas on a suitable bracket for this ?
I'd like a quite flat bracket so i could attach one side to a normal sturdy plastic storage box and the other side to the A frame and then some sort of catch to release the two ?
The items i want to put in the storage box are in the front locker currently so it's not adding any more weight apart from the weight of the box and bracket.
We have an Adria Adora 532UK so the A Frame is longer than most and we tow with a VW Touareg so overall i don't see the weight being an issue ?
Hopefully this makes sense but any ideas would be great?
Not adding more weight except the weight of the box.
True but the further forward you move that weight the more weight you place on the towball.
Think of the balance scales they move the same weight across the slider, but the furter out they place it the greater the affect on the scales.
The further away from the axle the greater affect on the towball weight.
Lots of overlever catches to make the box a quick release. I have some quick release bonnet pins on my small trailer. I can remove the box from the axle in seconds.
Probably not suitable for the axle though as they require holes. But you could clamp a plate to the chassis/Aframe and have holes in those.
Depends on the box you going to use.

minor changes may help, I put the hookup cable just inside the door way as this is one of the first jobs to do, arrange the gas locker better, blocks winder etc in middle again this is one of the first jobs, etc
i have a quick release rubber bonnet type catch on my front locker lid.. a lot quicker and easier than messing with keys each time i want to get in it..
Thanks all, i understand what you mean about moving weight forward but this is only for really light stuff but i'll have a sort out and take it from there. Good idea about the bonnet catch.
How about a holdall you can put the bits in inside the caravan for towing then just lift it out and set up. Then put the holdall in teh locker or care boot.
Seems a bit of an overkill making a box for the draw bar.
you could look into fitting a motorcycle rear topbox.
these use a permanently fitted "tray", then the topbox clips on using a key to release it.
cheap ones start at around 25 quid, 52 litre
