I'm wondering why so few sites tell you how much their storage fees are. You can search on here for sites with storage but when you go to their website not only do they not give a price they don't even mention that they do it. Which I find very odd because it can be such an advantage to have storage as it can encorage those people storing their van to also holiday on site. The site I have my van stored at offers a free tow on tow off pitch service so people don't even have to have a car that can tow to make use of site as a result site is almost always fully booked and is currently looking into expanding site to cope with demand. So it seems to me that storage can be a major plus for a site.
I think storage averages at £1 a night. Our site charges £6 per week. I have noticed that a lot of sites want you to contact them for charges. Perhaps spaces are limited.

Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
I think storage costs vary depending on the level of demand. Where I live it is virtually impossible to get storage therefore, the sites which do it can charge a premium and have long waiting lists. We are lucky and currently have storage in a caravan storage compound which as far as I have been able to find, is the cheapest in the area but it still costs us £39 a month. We would like to move to one nearer where we live but the next cheapest one we could find in our area has a massive waiting list and costs £10.50 a week. The only one nearer to us that still had space had one space left when we went to see them a few weeks ago and charged a whopping £18 a week. I’d love a store and stay site within 30 minutes of home but have never found one!
We have used three options.
When we first got our caravan we simply parked it on the road next to our house (we live on a corner so parked it in the side road) I put a cable over the roof of the caravan so it had an electric hook up and people could walk under that cable easily.
We then used a person who had three 'vans stored in her garden, it cost £50 per quarter but was not ideal as she offered no security etc
I then altered our driveway and we now store the caravan at home. I've fitted gates which I lock so insurance like it. Electric hook up to keep stuff from freezing over the winter and the cost is very little,
Keeping it at home seems to me to be the best option.
------------- We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.
We are lucky enough to have a large car park for our 6 houses so keep it there, now with the added security of a barrier, as all and sundry were using the car park at night.
It's not the cost that I'm overly bothered about it's the fact that 90% of sites who say they do stotage don't give that info on their websites. Which means having to spend loads of time emailing or calling site after site to get that info when a few lines on a website stating price and availability can save people look a lot of time and the sites the time having to reply.

I agree that storing at home is the cheapest option, not sure about the best though.
If people get used to there being a caravan outside your house they may also notice that one week its gone, they know the owners aren't home and likely wont be for a while.
Our van is stored between house and garage, and is behind tall, locked gates. Not visible from road, so only local residents or people in passing cars are aware of our departure if they happen to be around at the time. Even then, unless they hang around, they cannot be sure if we are leaving or returning.
