Everyone we have met with a new caravan have always taken it away for a day or two to check the whole lot. That way it settles your own mind on it.
Have to say many have either phoned the company up from the site to get to them [if they needed] them that is, or told them what is wrong and they are bringing it back immediately.

They can get it done on it’s ready to go away.
We would've done that if the weather was better - im not a wimp but Im not caravaning in the cold and wet weather - wish it had been clear and sunny but early december is not the best in the NW.
Anyway we were there for 3 hours - went through everything -twice! Luckily it was undercover. No one rushed us and all seemed to be in working order - as soon as we get a fine weekend we'll take it and really check it.
Thanks everyone

Tell them a few days before you pick up that you want the caravan hooked up and water available. This way you can check yourself that everything works. We have done this with our last two new caravans. Check everything, look under the lockers, does everything look finished off,a skylight on one of ours did not close correctly. A plug was missing from the onboard water tank. Don’t be afraid to do a thorough check. Does the heating work?
You have paid a lot of money, you don’t want to be going backwards and forwards to the dealers.
Have they included a leisure battery in the price?

They did all this without asking - theyd set it up with water, electricity and battery - all undercover thank goodness!
It was Preston Caravan and Motorhomes - they've been great so far - it's a huge dealership and has been there for years and years. I guess as people have pointed out here the real test is how they behave if anything goes wrong!
When we picked ours up they went over caravan with us and showed how heating, water, toilet etc all worked we bought ours from Raymond James Atherstone always had a good deal with them
