Just finished watching George Clarke's amazing spaces, someone on there has renovated a twin wheel Silver Streak American caravan & is going to use it as a live in van touring around festivals, he's a barber & cuts hair at these.
The finished van has marble worktops & a wood burner stove, looking at the A frame it looks as though there is no braking system on it as it is a solid section.
Just wondered what he is going to tow it with & is it road legal in this country

That's the problem with a lot of these renovators, they get all these amazing ideas but don't actually look into the legalities.

The thing is though, what is the chances of him being pulled over and a copper asking if his caravan was of legal weight.

Is it legal? probably not, will he get caught? again probably not.

What would you pull it with and could you drive it on a normal licence well one befor 1997.

Found the weights on you tube video of same van as on the program.
Hitch weight=700lbs
overall weight =5450lbs
Length 32 ft
Width 7ft 10 inch
He's going to need some tow vehicle for that & I think a HGV test as well
