If so yes very recent experience with them, but it was pet cover and they were very quick in paying out a large claim.

I used to deal with E&L years ago and they were pretty horrendous.
But The Insurance Emporium, probably a name change because of the bad rep, are touch wood a different kettle of fish.
So far have been very good to deal with.

Basically you pays your money and takes your choice.
you could ask a hundred people if they had bad experience from an insurance company (any insurance company) some will say they had a bad experience, some will say no comment, and some will say they had a good experience.
I remember speaking to a bloke at work, his house got flooded and it took him ages to get the claim resolved, I asked him which insurance company it was and it turned out it was Aviva.
Another work colleague said he had also made a claim a few months earlier and they resolved his claim within a few days.
Admittedly the two claims where very different, but I think its just pot luck regarding claims, some go well and some don't.
In the last few years there have been numerous complaints about them, more than any other from what I've seen, they had leaflets in every magazine I've seen, they always seem cheaper than the others
