Hi, looking to buy second hand, our A size is 1088 so should be buying 1100. Lots of 1050 second hand. Would a 1050 be ok? Never had a full size awning. Just an air porch

I think it is normally preferred to go slightly larger rather than smaller, but others may disagree. I must admit I have only ever had one full-awning and that's the one I have now. It's the one in my profile. It's a Trio Sombrero that I bought second-hand, and it's a lovely awning. Very well made, and it's huge! Very easy to put up too, I would certainly recommend them if you can find one.

I agree that you do need to go slightly bigger. This is because if the ground slopes a way from the caravan a shorter awning won't reach.

but buying 1100cm means you have jumped 2 sizes up which is too much! buying a 1075cm is what you need to be looking for.

as for the ground not being level = well one end will be shorter then and the other end longer but the overall measurement still exactly the same.

I don't know why you have decided against a size 1075 because as 'marg6' has stated that's exactly the size you need you need and I second their opinion as well. Size 1050 is going to be too small and anything above 1088 is going to be too big.

When I punch my van into the Isabella guide it says A size 1088 - with 1100 on the Colum for size to order

Most awnings have a 25cm tolerance, so an awning 1075 to 1100 would be perfect. 1100 isabella covers 1086 to 1110
Dorema 18, 1075 to 1100
Bradcot 1080, 1074 to 1088, or 1095, 1089 to 1103

People get confused regarding centimetres as it sounds a lot when it comes to awnings but in fact 10 cms. is only 4 inches. If your awning is 10 cms. too long then all you have to do is equal out 2 inches at either end.

Many thanks to you all that helped me out, bought a second hand Isabella 1100. Thats what the chart said, cost me 140 to courier it , but still a lot less than buying new. We had splashed out at the show in 17 for an air porch which was a mistake. Very pleased with my ebay buy
