First mistake is that you should never go by size due to the fact that each awning manufacturer apply their own sizes independently so are not universal. However, looking a the Dorema size chart you would require 875 to 900 which is a size 10.
If you decide on a different awning manufacturer then you need to check out the size first because it could well be different.
Below is a link to a basic guide how to measure yourself.
Thanks I know I should have measured it myself first.
It is a size 10 dorema I have which will fall into the specified 892cm size that is quoted on a online search of size required for the van. I'm just hoping that the 892cms is accurate enough for it to fit.
The best way to look at it is to convert centimetress to inches then you get a more realistic idea of the true length involved. The range figures of the awning are 875 to 900 cms. so if you subtract the 875 from 900 it leaves a total of 25 centimetres which converted to inches is around 10 inches. In other words, the awning could be anywhere between this range because when they are working with nearly 30 feet of material it's somewhat difficult to achieve the same size with every single awning so they have a specified tolerance to work to during production.
We have a Dorema full awning size 10 (875 to 900 cms.) with the caravan awning length being 886 cms. as stated in the handbook and ours fits perfectly.
I think you are worrying too much because if the figures are correct that you have provided then the awning should fit perfectly.
The best solution is to try it and see and just equal the material out at either end.
So if you go midway between the two measured lengths of string you end up with 885 cms. which like I said in my previous post is the same as ours (886 in the handbook) which means that the Dorema brand size 10 which is also the same as ours will definitely fit. If you do need to gain any extra height to take up some slack you can pull the caravan up a pair of levelling ramps but in the 8 years of owning our Dorema Montana we have never had to do that.
Hi there, I measured my caravan today with a tape measure all round the rail, which was 29ft, but from rail to rail length wise it’s 17ft, so would a 900cm awning fit, I’ve a 1996 clubman, thanks

Just do a Google search for a length conversion chart from feet to centimetres and enter the size of 29 feet then convert it. When you have the result you can then decide if 900 cms. is suitable or not.
