popped up to a local town to pick up some building supplies ..on the way back we were passed by a squad car with its blues and twos going like mad , as we passed a garage along the way the police had pulled what looked like a fairly new van being pulled by a transit van , the copper was on the phone to someone just hope they caught a theft as it happened .. will scour the local news later for a update ..
Last week followed a transit with van in tow, eventually managed to pass it and saw number plates were different. Do you think I could see any police cars about, and with no phone on me couldn't do anything. Eventually I went one way and them the other. Could have been legit, but I had my doubts.

As ex 'old-bill', that sounds to me like a Tracker activation.
The system isn't cheap, but if spending money on a new van, I'd certainly recommend having Tracker fitted, and preferably the movement sensor rather than manual reporting.
We recovered so many 'vans and cars due to Tracker, usually within hours of being stolen, and often on false plates or even hidden inside large artic lorry trailers.
Well worth the money.

What is sad is that many caravans have a Tracker fitted, but it is a passive one and you have to notify the tracking company that the unit has been stolen. If in storage this may be several days or seven weeks. This type of tracker is as much use as a wet paper bag.
We ha done of these useless trackers fitted as standard however we had it replaced with a Phantom tracker which is pro-active and will notify us the moment the caravan is entered or moved. A much better system plus we can monitor the mileage and also checked the status of the battery remotely!
