The problem with caravan seats is that the manufacturers use pretty much the cheapest foam possible. This is fine when the van is new, but over time the foam looses support and your bed ends up with more dips and troughs than the Somme.
If you really want a comfortable bed then the best advice would be to get the seats re-stuffed with good quality foam.
These people re-stuff caravan/campervan seating and they can do whatever firmness you want. They aren't cheap, but if it means you'll get a good nights sleep surely its worth it.

On a brand new caravan within 6 months we had all the seats re-upholstered with a better quality foam by Tockfields. It was worth every penny!
Ye I've had my van now for about three years from new and initially the seating was fine as beds, but after 12 months or so you could really feel the dips in the seating where people have sat for long periods of time on those long rainy days.
I have a "Gold" one and my wife has a "Silver" one.
I have a load of titanium holding my spine together so getting comfortable in bed is no mean feat. Our caravan sleep was transformed once we'd invested in a Duvalay topper each.
We have a 50mm Coolmax matress topper and it's miles better than the basic set up (using the seat base and backs) I roll it up, using a wide strap to hold it in place and store it in the shower. I also make sure the seat bases are as flat as possible.
When we had to makeup the front seats we bought a mattress topper from IKEA bout 60 quid but couldn't feel any bumps or joins and it rolls lovley for storage and is not weighty
