Hi I hope someone can help ,
New to caravanning “ which is great!”
But think I’m having a brain freeze moment ,
On the pump for our air awning what does 3 bar mean?
I know it’s something to do with automatic cut off when awning is fully inflated, but just not sure what it means , what it looks like , and more importantly how to do it so I know when inflating, for it to cut off automatically so I don’t over inflate
If you have any ideas that’ll be great 👍
Only 9-11 psi (0.62-0.76 BAR) inflation pressure for my Kampa awning. Kampa's dedicated electric tent/awning pump only goes up to 12.5psi (0.86 BAR) max.
Doesn't sound like it's a pump designed/intended for air tents/awnings, never heard of any brand of air tent/awning needing anything like that pressure, most (if not all!) would catastrophically burst the tubes long before reaching 3 bar (43.5 psi).
Ang38, more detail of pump and/or awning (brand, model etc.) may clarify things a little more, but I CERTAINLY wouldn't attempt to inflate to more than about 9 psi (0.62 Bar) without confirming that your awning can take it!
Use the manual pump, they usually have a gauge or dump valve to limit pressure and are a lot quicker than electric. If your pump can achieve 3 bar surely it is a tyre pump and not a dedicated awning pump.
