Ladies gents and everyone else in between or above help required please.

Following on from a relationship breakdown I'm possibly looking at having to look at living in my tin shed on a more permanent basis.
I have found a site who is willing to accept me on a permanent basis but doesn't have ehu.
What kind of kw solar panel should I be looking at to run fridge TV alarm clocks and for keeping a phone charged.
Many choices to choose from but have no idea what I should be looking for. All help and helpful advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Chris

I think I would forget about running a fridge on 12v, the rest would probably be OK. You would need gas for the fridge.

If you do a search on the caravan section for solar panel or solar power you will find lots of threads that will help you.

Any appliance that heats, such as a kettle or fridge, uses too much power to make it viable to use 12v batteries and solar power. Use gas for the fridge, kettle and hot water.

A 12 volt tv used for a couple of hours each evening plus 12 volt lighting (converted to led) and a water pump should be fine with a decent battery and a 100 watt panel in summer but you would struggle in the winter especially if it is overcast for days on end.

Rob

PS We are still searching for a 12v alarm clock, we have resorted to a clock using AA batteries. If anybody knows of a 12v clock please let us know where to source one.
