Thanks all for the advice. The fact is I checked the title deeds - the caravan was a good deal and I took a chance. It is clear that the covenant in place is only until the builder sells the last house - long done!
So have decided to make it a police matter - threatening to burn down my caravan is a very serious and criminal offence.
I have offered to make the caravan invisible to his house as much as I can. A pergola would take it above the 2.5m height, so that isn't going to happen now - so it will be stacked in a corner and will be my daughters study place.
its OK my house has a covenant saying it cant be used as an insane asylum
that went out of the window the moment my wife moved in

The trick is keeping good relations with neighbours, wether they are complete ass holes, prone to drinking heavily & making threats or not. We live in a new build, & there the same restrictions, but the estate is 2yrs from its finish date yet. The caravan is only home before & after a trip. I did mention it to the neighbours before we brought it home for the first time, they were fine with it. It is tucked far back on a shared drive. I’d never consider storing it at home though.
Thanks all for advice. Caravan sold and lost £100. Neighbours showing their true colours nw. However it has prompted us to start thinking about self build in the country.
I'm sorry for you. If you do go for a self-build, you now know to check everything before you even get the plot. As friends who did a self-build found out, not all "officials" are quite as sound professionals as one expects them to be.

Why do people have to be utter a***holes at times? I moved 4 years ago because of an a***hole neighbour and have never regretted it. If you don’t like someone fine no issue with that but just ignore them leave them alone and get on with your own sad little life rather than spoil someone else’s joy

Aww, I'm so sorry to hear this.
If you bought the caravan for your daughter as a study room, rather than a holiday item, would the neighbours object to a nice Shed/summerhouse in the garden instead?
Although it sounds like they would object to practically everything. Not surprised you're thinking of a self build. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
