We have just been away to Yorkshire , got there fine last Sunday set up caravan and awning sat down for our evening meal , and shortly after I had a heart attack , never been ill in my life before so a bit of a shock at 73 ,the wife called a ambulance and I got rushed in for emergency surgery .. that bits all fine .. but we then had the car and caravan on site and I can’t drive for 4 weeks post op .. o.k I’m insured with LV and they have a built in recovery /breakdown service included .. the wife contacted them and it was arranged to pick up car and van as soon as I was out of hospital (weds) which they did using a contracted recovery service who ensured us that it would be with us thurs morning first thing.. by dinner time I was panicking that it hadn’t turned up .and on calling the contractors the wife was told that we weren’t important enough and they were not able to deliver it til next Monday 17th June . Trouble is the wife and camp warden had put it away and shoved a soaking wet awning in the car .. expecting next day delivery as promised .. .. anyway after getting onto Britannia rescue Lv recovery agents .they chased it up changed contractors and it was finally delivered at 10 p.m last night . And it looks like they have used it in a wacky races rally .. taken the wife 5 hours this morning to clean it up ,everything out of the cupboards etc . The moral of this tale is if faced with a similar situation ensure yo travel with your units to make sure it’s treated with respect
Hi, sorry to hear you were taken ill, but in the circumstances would have done same and chucked everything in caravan anyhow. You're more important than the caravan at least you're still here to use caravan again. I wish you well in your recovery hope not too long before you pitch up again.
