I have recently purchased a rear fixed bed layout.
Now when you lift the bed up there is a massive amount of storage underneath available. I am well aware of towing and where to store heavy items etc... But how many of us take advantage of the space and use it probably way over and above?
I have x 4 camping chairs, waste master, hoses for serviced pitches, fold up kitchen and a few other bits and bobs probably about 40kgs which all use to be stored in my middle dinette in my previous model.
Thanks

we have a fixed bed as well, tend to keep spare bedding under bed,all heavy things including awning goes on the deck over the axle, best to be safe than sorry.

i store my waste master aquaroll and small table top bbq under my sons fixed bunk and 6 folding chairs and camping table under the rear dinette seat. other items are stored about the caravan but the majority of the weight is in front of the single axle. i am careful that the nose weight is high, between 90 - 100kg. my car has a max nose weight of 150kg but i am aware the alco hitch is only rated to 100kg. i have seen the videos where they put some weights on the rear of demostration trailer on a 'tread mill' and appreciate that if the nose weight is too light because of too much rear weight there would be a snaking problem. as a mechanical engineer i can also see that providing the nose wight is correct and you are not exceeding the MPLM of your caravan then loading items at the rear would have a lesser effect. too much at the ends would increase inertia which would lead to the pitching and yawl. but i dont think a waste master and aquaroll will give too much of a problem provifing the nose weight is correct. this is usually minimum 7% of the caravans loaded weight so in my caravans case ut would be 112kg which i cant reach without exceeding the hitches max load so less than 100kg it must be.

That's the trouble with fixed rear beds to tempting to store everything in there. If you have always put heavy stuff over axle to get a good balance why suddenly move it to rear ?
For me its folding chairs under front seats awning over axle, there are a few things under fixed rear bed mainly small hoover but on the wet locker floor tray I keep all the pegs level blocks hook up lead etc then in front locker goes waste master and aquaroll and 2 small gas bottles. My car only has a 6okg towball weight, a nosewight should be 5 to 7% in my case im working around the 5% mark ive never had any stability issues
