Instead of touring with the caravan I want to pitch it permantly on a site so I can just go to and forth weekends. How do I go about this? Any ideas as all new to me
I have stopped on a few sites that do this, Cake & ale Suffolk was one, however some limit age of caravan and some insist you buy it from them.
I would say first thing is fill in details, your location, and holiday location, and when you want to use it, most have a dead time where your not permitted to use the caravan which is really to stop it becoming a residential site.
In Rhyl area there are sites which seem not to allow anything else. They are not it seems open to touring caravans.
Some sites it seems have storage, where the caravan is moved from storage area to living area before use. And the size varies from 14 foot to 24 foot so again what are you looking for?

Well I'm in Hampshire and want some thing in Dorset, the caravan itself is quite old in age, but I just want to put it on a site like I stated for summer season to use weekends and whenever. I do have it in storage at the moment, I suppose there is alot of information out there I just have to find it. Thank you
1. Seasonal pitch where the van will be permanently sited.
2. Store on the site and the site owner tows it out to a normal pitch each time you use it. You will pay storage fee, pitch fees and a small towing charge.
Which is best for you depends on how often you use it. The seasonal pitch will be quite expensive but if you use it often will be good value. The store and tow option will be quite cheap if you only use it infrequently.
You need to find a site which you like and discuss what arrangements they can offer.
Hi, we do this on a Camping and Caravanning Club site. We pay for summer and winter storage and pay £6.50 (I think) for our van to be towed in and out of storage to a pitch. We like it as it also gives us a little bit of flexibility over pitches compared to being on a seasonal pitch. OK you have to do a bit of setting up each time but it is worth it for the cost saving side alone.
There is a search facility on this site for seasonal pitches in all counties. Click Camp site search and scroll down to find seasonal pitches click this and enjoy.
