I've just registered here after reading some of the posts about swift basecamp.
I haven't yet viewed one in person but have watched a few youtubes, as one does. I'm considering purchasing one, not soon, but a little further down the line.

It wouldn't be for the odd weekend away, well, it probably would be to start with.
I hope to travel Europe.
Obviously, I'll have to get use to towing and no doubt a few other things.

I noticed quite a number of members on here have positive thoughts on Swift BC, and it appeals to the more mature generation also, like myself 🤔.

Anyway, I'll keep reading through the posts. I did read something about grips, it seemed rather important, I'll have another browse ☺

There is a Swift Basecamp Owners Group on Facebook. Well, there are two actually... but one is much bigger than the other. You don’t need to have a Basecamp to join and you will find the answers to all your questions on there.
Hubby and I are 62, never had a caravan before. We bought a Basecamp in 2017 and we love it! We’ve just got back from the Isle of Wight and the New Forest and we’re off to Ludlow tomorrow.

I was looking at one yesterday while waiting for the van to be serviced. Only problem I can see is with the awning on the back it ends up being a very long unit.. too long for your regular caravan pitches.. Something to bear in mind

We have 3 different awnings for our Basecamp; the made to measure Vango, a Wigo canopy and a Kampa Rally Air Pro 200 with a bedroom annexe so we have all angles covered and can easily fit on a standard pitch with the Kampa or Wigo, although I don’t think many members of the 1000 strong Facebook group have had much trouble getting a pitch to accommodate the Vango, usually the site wardens are just fascinated with the Basecamp usually not having seen one before! We get a lot of sightseers wanting a tour!!
