I would double check the towing weight carefully, Renault are notorious for providing confusing towing information. You may only be allowed to tow 1100kg if the car is empty, every kilo you add to the car will decrease the caravan weight by a kilo. Check the weight plate on the car and the handbook.
It's difficult to recommend a caravan to fit your budget as we have no idea what your budget is however as you are looking for a very light caravan it would be worth looking at Freedom caravans as they have a low weight. Also have a look at outfits from the eighties as they were fairly light as they didn't have all the gadgets that newer vans have.
If you have a look at caravanfinder and similar websites you should be able to search for vans by price and weight.

You sound like you have it about right there Jeff.
If there is only the 2 of you, you should be able to get a fairly light 2 berth around 1000kg MTPLM especially if it's a bit older as it probably will have to be to suit your budget.

If you want a 2 birth and your not bothered about age the Elddis Wisp 350/2 is an ideal low weight caravan. Although they are a bit like hens teeth to get hold of. I sold my Wisp 350/2 in February after 9 years, it took 4 hours to sell and gone.I towed with my Citroen Picasso which has the same towing capacity as your Renault.
Other than that as
Ron& Tina said the Freedom caravans, although they can be a bit pricey.
