Just been to my caravan today in storage and found a good few ants wandering about my caravan, Has anyone else had this and any reccomendations to get rid of them, Also there were none there on sunday, thanks, Terry
An 'Ant Stop Bait Station' will fix them pretty quick, this is food that kills the nest in a few days.
If you just want to deter them, vinegar works well. We had ants invading the tent last year while and a good splash of white vinegar under the kitchen ground sheet and around then tent saw them off without killing the nest.

Thanks for that bit of info, I dont want the little creatures deciding they are moving in so I have just ordered 4 of these bait stations which will be delivered tomorrow and i will place them around the caravan, thanks, Terry
Raid spray in the red cans specifically for ants does the job ok. Used plenty of it in France this yr. I don’t think ants nest in caravans but they will enter by any means possible. Could be up ehu cable or through floor vent if pitched in long grass. Look for nests on your pitch & spray raid direct into them. Works well.
They don’t like cucumber, if you can see the ants and put a slice of cucumber near them they avoid it. We had them in caravan and didnt want powder/ sprays in kitchen area or food cupboards so went with the cucumber deterrent:
I am reasonably sure there is no nest in the van, I think its probably outside and they are getting in looking for food which I dont leave in there whilst in storage, there wasnt anything in there on sunday so this is the first, thanks, Terry

I was told to put bay leaves in the food cupboards when I had ants in a static caravan many years ago.
We found out we had ants move in when in France this year, we purchased a couple of ant deterents which was neither spray or powder, they were little curved green plastic cases about 4 inch square that you placed near the infestation, (ours was near the water heater under the seat) the sides of the cases was an open grid pattern that allowed the vapour in the internal pad to eascape. They worked well and shifted them in a couple of days, as they last for 3 to 4 months I've put them in a ziplock bag to use again if needs be.

Teach a man to fish and you can get rid of him for a whole weekend.
Problem sorted, I put the ant stop bait stations down last weekend and went today to storage and they have all gone, I put 4 of them down in various places. I will keep a few of them for future use, Thanks for all the recommendations, Terry
