We have a Lunar Quasar 525, my sister has the 524, both 2014. The heating is not efficient as very limited outlets. In ours there's one in the bathroom and one at each end,as it's a double dinette. Works best on gas. Unfortunately ours is out of commission as the Alko axle has broken and needs replacing. A 5 berth van, only ever packed for two and no awning or bikes carried in the caravan. Lunar have recently been in administration and takeover company unlikely to take over warranties. Make your own mind up as to whether it's a good buy!!

I've got a 2016 Lunar 524 in a dealer special version, absolutly love it. I've used it in spring and autumn with outside temp down to a few degrees and the blown air heating is perfectly adequate, more than capable of overheating van. Personally I see the Alde wet central heating as a liability without much gain over hot air (suposedly quicker at heating van from cold), more plumbing (potential leaks and pump failures), more weight, more servicing needed (antifreeze changes and/or draining down in winter), I choose to avoid it when picking a van. And the blown air heating allows you to blow cold air to ventilate van when the outside temp is high in the summer months!

The current uncertainty over warantees with Lunar's new owners would possibly concern me, but unless the van you are considering has a full documented service history you've lost that anyway. Many of the 2 or 3 year old vans I looked at didn't have ANY service history, so don't just assume, check the paperwork! No service history = no manufacturers warantee! It's gone for good, you can't reinstate it by having a service done.

We have a Lunar Quasar 544 with the warm air system. Warms up very quickly and we prefer it to the Alde system for the reasons Monty15 states above. We use the van February through to November and have never felt cold init day or night.
