Looking to buy our first caravan, something light and not too big - under 1200 kg. We have a daughter, 5, so 3 berth. I like the Altea, better build quality and a bit more space. Also the Freedom is acquiring cult status and overpriced? My wife likes the Freedom, smaller so easier to tow. Any advice or suggestions welcome.
Thank you.
The adria alta would be a good van to start with as the freedom caravan is basic and the same model over twenty years when I first started looking for a new caravan

We had a 1992 Freedom sunseeker many years ago. 4 berth. It was great and we took our 3 boys away in it, sleeping 2 in awning. There was a canvas 4th bunk. It was great, but only had a small fridge and basic centre kitchen with cold water only. 2 ring hob and grille, no heating at all. This van felt roomy and had plenty of storage for all of us.
I looked at a much more modern one a few years ago but found they now include a toilet cum washroom, and a water heater, blow air or gas fire heater, the kitchen has been moved to the back where the roof sweeps down so too low. It felt very cramped and very little storage space.
Trouble with mod comms is that they take up a lot of room in a small caravan.
We started off with a freedom, but there was just the two of us and 3 dogs, it was cramped to say the least, they are cute little vans but you have to think longer term when your daughter gets a bit older you will quickly run out of room,
I've always liked the Adria caravans, seem to be well built.
