We have been using a battery operated sonic rodent repeller which we have used for the past 10 years and seems to have solved the problem permanently having had mice previously. The battery needs replacing about once every 6 months but worth every penny at just under 15 quid if it does the trick.
You need to try and find where the mice are getting in and block up every possible entry point. We were told that if there is a gap that you can fit a pencil in, a mouse can get through it! We have put a fine metal mesh over all our vents. Make sure your waste outlet covers are closed and the sink plugs are in.
Mice use scent to follow each other’s trail so I read somewhere that if the problem is persistent, if you scrub the area under and around the caravan with Jeys Fluid, it disrupts the scent trails.
In case you are thinking of putting poisoned bait down, you might like to think again, you're likely have dead & decaying mice somewhere in your van that you cannot locate, but you'll know they are there by the smell! Good old fashion mouse trap if you must kill them, at least you can clear the corpse(s) out of you van.
When we had a caravans and had mice getting in up through the gas locker as the front of the corners are hollow to the top lockers I used chicken wire to fill the gaps all the way around bottom and up the corners

15 quids a bit steep for a battery tango Ha Ha
Seriously, we too have used these things for years and they are great, keep the spiders down as well
Maybe 15 quid is a bit steep but I only posted that link for the OP just to indicate the sort of thing I was referring to. Once the OP knows what to search for they can shop around for the best price if they so wish. However, according to some past threads on this topic, some say that the rodent repeller works and others say they don't.
As others, we used fine wire mesh over all openings, 2 battery operated rodent repellers and copious amounts of Jeyes fluid after a visit from mice, which has not since been repeated. We now store the caravan in secure indoor storage, which should considerably reduce the risk.

Your post implies that the replacement PP3 batteries cost £15 not the unit. I thought this was amusing, but obviously not

I didn't read your post properly about the battery being 15 quid. I have re-read my post and yes, I've seen the funny side now, my apologies for that.
