It all depends on what security measures each storage compound has. A registered storage compound will usually have 3 ratings which is Gold, Silver and Bronze which will usually reflect the price of the annual storage fees. However, in saying that, according to previous posts on this topic it appears that generally the further south you go the higher the fees.

You will find that prices vary depending on demand in the area. If there is high demand there will be high prices. We spent months looking for storage and were on several waiting lists in our area which has very high demand. We eventually got a space at £550 a year.

This seems like a lot compared to what we hear people pay in other areas but because we live in a big city, I guess that lots of people like us have no space to store at home and that drives up demand for the small number of storage sites outside the city.
