Well They have to, be a big miss for us as we always take our main holiday in early June for three weeks near Weymouth, then stop for a few nights on the way home mostly Slimbridge.

I congratulate both clubs on making a difficult but necessary decision at this very difficult time. I wish more sites, theme parks, hotels etc would do the same as filling up some of our beautiful places with 'tourists' who pose extra risks and possible patients seems a dangerous thing to do for all of us but especially for the NHS that still has to face the worst of this virus.
I will miss some of my regular site visits at the start of the season but hopefully, this way, I may be able to enjoy some time away at he end of the season.

Not at all surprised, and in a way, I am glad they have decided to close all sites until the end of June 2020 at least.

We were due to go to the CCC site at Devises last weekend but after monitoring the situation for a few days we made the decision to cancel.
They were happy to defer the booking to October and said we can defer again without charge should we need to.
Pretty fair in my opinion.
Glad we did cancel as I went down with the symptoms Saturday evening so am now isolating in the van on the drive. Not quite the caravan break I was expecting!
I am dissapointed by both clubs they closed all their sites both clubs have members trying to return home from Europe why could they not get together and leave a few sites open with just water and waste for at least the next 10 days. Its about 400 miles to Scotland and no where to park or rest how safe is that. At least the frence and Spanish let you use the aires which have water and showers on them. What is anyone to do keep driving or find a layby some of which are so close to the road they are dangerous. I feel for those people with a long way to go with a little though and common sense something could have been done.

I agree Sennen. There are appeals on FB from people in just this position who don't know where they can stop so that they can reach home safely. There are also people who, once they reach the UK, need to self isolate, due to travelling from Spain or France. These people may be unable to return to their homes, for various reasons, so the sensible thing is for them to remain in their motorhomes or caravans, but they are having rouble finding locations where they can do this.
It's a far less simple situation than any of us first realised.
------------- Freedom is a light caravan and an open road.
As with most things this is people who have the ability to take the Caravan / Motorhome abroad. If they can get it there they can get it back to their home. This is just another excuse to be a problem for somebody else. Of course a few do not have a residence so they have come back to What ? So do they need sites close to Ports or would they prefer to spread out across the country.

So, if you'd have left Europe and headed back to the UK when the first advice to do so came out you could have used both the club's sites and cl's. Why is your poor planning the club's fault? It's really your problem not theirs.
There are several people on facebook offering driveways etc for people to do stopovers.

This virus and warnings have been around for weeks, They have had plenty of time to return home. They didn’t need the government to tell them they must.

Please inform me as to where you get the ability to see into the future this would have been very useful when we suffered our breakdown making it impossible to return home. And yes the caravan club we very good and helped us , we were arranged to go back via Brittany Ferries then that all changed.
We also followed the Government advice which was not that helpfull as they were still saying you had to take your dog to the vets before crossing this was not the case thats been dropped but DEFA is still tell people to.
With the help from CC and other we got home as did many others but we realy need and overnight stop to make it safe to drive.

so what is wrong with using the motorway services then? y6ou would have used them on your way home normally surely? just this time your stopping overnight, if you use your loo, then sort that when you get back home, a couple of bottles of water in the van will see you thr your journey for cuppas and hand washing
