Hi, hope everyone is well. Does anyone happen to know the measurement from floor to ceiling on an compass Abby GTE 460/4 please. Or where I could get a manual from. Thanks

compass is one company, abbey gte is a totally separate manufacturer so I think you need to find out what caravan you actually have first

What do you need to know the height for?
Most caravan specifications will only provide the shipping length, internal length and width. However, the original Compass Rallye handbook may have had the height but touring caravans in general are the same height anyway regarding the versatility to accommodate a porch awning. The only difference would be if it's a flat roof or the older type boat roof.

Hi, yes I have noticed that the only measurements provided are the ones you've mentioned, I was just wondering if anyone maybe had one of these caravans and happened to know the height (or would be willing to measure it for me) now that I know that most Vans are a standard height (thank you) that makes it easier to find the answer. The reason I was asking is that I was wondering if it would be possible to customise the bunk beds by making them higher so that the seating area could remain in place all the time. I can't measure it myself because the caravan is too far away at the moment.

The existing bunk beds may be secured to the timber caravan structure to accommodate the weight so if you consider making them higher then there is much more to consider from a practical point than just the height. Also, this would be classed as a modification so your caravan insurance would need to know about it as well. However, if you tap the wall slightly with a small hammer you can usually hear the lower tone of sound where the timber frame is.
