I have a van on a seasonal pitch that i obviously cannot attend to at the moment. I am not allowed to recover it home and i am incurring storage fees for the summer months. Would anybody like to comment on how much and how they are being charged over this challenging period. Thanks in advance.
Theres nothing else to pay as we have paid for the year however the owner is taking monthly storage fees out of that amount instead of rolling it over to nxt year. Its also assumed the owner will also be claiming from gov.

I don't see a problem? Lock down or not you still would have had to pay. Not sure why seasonal caravanners and owners of static caravans expect a rebate.
I understand exactly what you are saying, the difference between the monthly cost of storage is far removed from the monthly cost of a seasonal pitch. Our monthly storage is approximately £32 against a possible cost of £200 for a seasonal , big difference when you can't get on site.

Also a big difference if the site needs to close down as a result of giving every one rebates. They probably still have to pay a mortgage etc. Your choice I guess.
My point is you can't be expected to pay the same as if you have full use of the facilities ,the rate per week should be reflected in that and relate to storage related rate.only.

Take it up with the owner as none of us can help you. Let us know how you got on.

I’ll tell you why we expect a rebate. We have paid up front for an 11 month licence to visit our site as often as we like in that period. For 6 weeks now we have been forbidden to use the caravan, this a breach of the contract we have with the caravan site - ok it isn’t their fault but at the same time it certainly isn’t ours. At the moment we are £420 out of pocket which is likely to rise in the coming days.
What infuriates me more than anything about this whole episode - the govt say it isn’t safe for me to visit my caravan, where I can be 150-200mtrs away from the nearest person to me, and I have to stay at home, YET it’s safe for me to drive 31 miles to work, sit 2m away from someone coughing up a lung for 8 hours then drive 31 miles home again and sit in my house until the next morning.
It’s an utter nonsense it’s either a lockdown and we stay in all the time, or it’s safe to go to work and safe to go to my caravan. They cannot have us all go to work and have nothing enjoyable to look forward to at the end of the week.

Our seasonal site has confirmed that there will be some form of compensation/refund for the time we've been unable to use the van, but they are waiting to know how long the lockdown actually lasts before deciding what it will be!
I'm hoping it will be a refund based on the difference between their normal storage costs (i'd forgive them for slightly inflating these!), and the site fees that we have paid - they're not doing too much at the moment in terms of site maintenance, their email today said they had furloughed the majority of staff/wardens! In reality therefore it is just a glorified storage facility.

If the 6th July date we have been given is confirmed and we are allowed back onsite, our total financial loss works be £1700 - 3 months caravan payments for a van I wasn’t allowed to use and 15 weeks loss of site fees.
No way on this earth am I just going to accept that as “one of these things” and frankly no owner should. For me this is no different to people who had holidays cancelled, I’ve effectovely had 14 weekends and a full week at Easter cancelled.
