Hi all
Not been on UK Campsites for a few years but we're back (hopefully!).
We were keen caravanners back in the 90's but sold up and moved to Cornwall in 2000, thinking we wouldn't need or miss it. We did!!
We then crossed over to the other side and bought a motorhome in 2006, followed by 3 more!!! Sold our last one 2 years ago again thinking we wouldn't miss it. We did!!
We've now been thinking about getting back into it (too much time on our hands?!) and reverting back to caravanning. We talked about the pros and cons and decided it's the way to go for us at this time.
We know what we want and what our priorities are and think that the Bailey Unicorn Valencia would be an ideal van for us. We're hoping to look at a couple of older models (2013) within the next few weeks.
Do any of you lovely people currently own the same/similar model? If so anything good or bad that we should know?
Thank you for your help, it will be invaluable to us.

We don’t have the series 2 Valencia you are thinking about. We do have the series 1 model though and absolutely love it. It’s due to have its 9th service next week (don’t want to comment and put a curse on it) and still as good as new. We have thought many times about upgrading to a newer model but sometimes it's better the devil you know as they say and nothing really any different in the new vans in our opinion so have stayed with what we think is a super van.
The Alde heating system is fantastic, fixed bed end and bathroom are great. The good sized front lounge area makes it ideal for me the wife and our little Chihuahua’s.
Some will say that the series 1 model is heavy (I have to agree) the 2011 vans have only one awning rail. There were also stories of wheels coming loose or coming off (15 inch on my van) not anything I have ever encountered. I believe they have gone back to 14 inch wheels now.
Good luck with your search, I hope you find the right van for you.

Thankyou so much for your reply meandmygirl, much appreciated.
Having done it all before we hope we know what we want!!! We made a list of our priorities (fixed bed/end bathroom), researched online through lockdown (!) and discovered the Valencia (our last caravan back in the 90's was a Bailey so I guess we were drawn to them?).
Good luck with your service!
Having had brand new motorhomes over the last 14 years we think the build quality has gone down each time sadly so not even considering a brand new caravan.
Never had the Alde heating system so that will be something new to learn. Will no doubt be back on here for more advice if/when we go for it!
Thanks again and happy caravanning when we all get back to normal.
We had a S2 Vigo for 4 years, it was a good van. It has the transverse telescopic bed which was only just long enough for me. This was our main reason for changing to our 2018 Cadiz with its 2 longer single fixed beds.
We had no major issues with the Vigo, any minor issues were put right by our dealer, who are excellent.
The wheel issue was corrected by fitment of different wheel bolts, so check it's done.Ours have 14 inch wheels.
It had the round shower enclosure, which some find a little small, we had no issues with it. The U4 has bigger rectangular shower.
The Alde system is brilliant, the anti freeze in it needs changing to prevent corrosion so check service history. I think they can put in antifreeze which has a 5 year interval between change.
They should come with Al ko wheel lock, jack and spare wheel. Tracker was fitted but subscription to it is optional after initial period.
Main thing is look it over carefully and check service book which should include damp checks.

A mate has had one of these vans for a couple of years now, and they love it. Its around a 13 model i think, and has had no trouble with it.
Wheel nut issues were series 1.There was a recall to change wheel nuts as some wheels were detaching.
Nose weight was also a problem on S1 .Early ones were over 100kg max on delivery. There was a fixing kit .Some also reported water ingress via front grab handles .
Go for series 2!
