I really struggle with the smell of the Thetford one ( I think) makes me feel nauseous . Am looking to try something different. I find that the flush pink causes black bits too. I tend not to use a flush one now for that reason but I do need to find a tank one,as we’re going to be staying in a site with no toilets in Aug!
Look at my link further up the page.

I’ve ordered one to give it a try, anything’s got to be better that the current yucky one!
I don't know whether this does the toilet any good or if it actually works , a mate of mine who has a motorhome only uses fabric softener / conditioner .I've never tried it but he swears by it, anyone else heard about this.

For years we just used a squirt of toilet duck in the top tank. It smells nice and no black bits.
We had black bits from the pink stuff last year, probably because I left a bit in and it was very hot in France.
Its cleaned out now so we may go back to toilet duck.
We had a hired camper on our two Australian holidays, they just put water in the top tanks.Chemical sachets for bottom tank.

I use non-bio laundry liquid, very much diluted in my top tank. No black bits

------------- We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.
