I'm considering an 8ft wide van, interested to hear people's opinions, that have one. We go to France every year plus 3-4 trips in Scotland.
Thanks
George

We have an 8' wide twin axle Buccaneer caravan and have used it in France and Spain with no issue, but due to narrow roads on campsites we had an AWD motor mover fitted so lose part of the payload. No issue in the UK.

Probably depends on your insurance company, but one of the. questions asked when I was arranging the insurance on a van we were considering, was about width. Had it been an 8’ width, I was advised the premium would have been higher. Possibly makes no difference now or not enough to be of concern, but perhaps worth checking.
What do owners find when they insure? Not that I desire the extra width, but I note it is quite popular now.
Not sure why a premium will increase because the caravan is 6" wider than average caravans? Never had that issue and never been asked the width of the caravan.
We have an 8ft wide Adria and absolutely love the difference on the inside. It takes very little getting used to the extra width when towing.
Will say that one site we use in France I was a lot more cautious entering the site.
The CAMC never ask the width when insuring.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

Just commenting on my own experience as I thought it may be of interest.
You know what insurance companies are like, any excuse to increase the premium.
We have a 8ft wide swift and the extra space is brilliant and haven’t had any problems towing just getting it back into storage slot went from a 7 ft to a 7.6ft now 8ft so each time got a little tighter but with practice easier
