Hi, I have recently bought a Ruby, and I cannot find how to run 12v lights or equipment without plugging in to the mains. I have a brand new battery, so should be able to, or am I missing something. Please help.
yes you just turn on the master switch, and make sure that the battery is turned on. what are you trying to run? only your water pump, 12v lights, and the ignition for your cooker and fridge and fire work off 12 volt, oh, plus a couple of 12v sockets(the 2 pronged ones).

There should be a switch on the control panel where you switch from car to caravan mode. Unfortunately I've never heard of a Ruby model so I've no idea if it's an older model or a limited edition perhaps. If you could give us an idea of the age of the van we might be able to give more specific advice.
As well is two words!

Hi, sorry, yes it is a special edition of the Bailey Ranger, 1997 model. The control panel is a zig cpx-9 (pictured in link below)
It has a three position switch, (car battery/off/caravan battery). I have it switched to caravan battery. All the 12v lights etc work while it is plugged in to the 240v mains. As soon as I disconnect the mains, everything goes off. This is what I'm confused by.
Thanks everyone. I went through all fuses everywhere in the caravan and found two that had blown, solved my problem and my confusion. Sorry, I should have done this all first.
