I have read the old posts on front towing covers.
Opinions differ greatly as to the pro's and con's, however travelling along the North Devon Link road over the past few days (its our local highway) nearly all the caravans have front covers on.
We have toyed with the idea of getting one, it looks as though the easiest is either Protec or Specialised, the kind that slide into the awning rails rather than clip either side.
I would have to fit it mostly on my own.
Are they universal sizes, or like caravan awnings?
We have a 2005 Compass Omega 432.
I would say they are caravan specific as you have to have a clear panel that covers your side lights to allow side lights to be visible.Different caravans may differ in side light position.

Ours is a Specialised one and zips up one side by the awning rail. Protec zip up the centre which look a little bit fiddlier. We both fit ours one either side but could be done on your own,, it's more a case of keeping it off the floor and picking up grit on the inside.
Try looking on ebay, gumtree etc to see if there are 2nd hand ones, we got ours half price of new for a different layout no. but the same model if you know what I mean.
Ours is a universal, bought from specialised covers on their outlet shop. It was a cancelled order so got it for nearly half price. Has a brilliant Yorkshire Rose motif on it. Can be put on with one but easier with two. Last week drove through road works where they put down tar and chippings, reckon it paid for itself then.
We have ha done for our last three caravans. We bought it after having to tow the caravan down a road covered in stone chipping. Although you may drive slowly, some idiots coming from the opposite direction don't care about the speed limit. Our caravan ended up with loads of stone chips on the front offside. After repairs we bought the front towing cover. We have the Specialised towing cover.
I bought a cheap one only about £40, called Defender.
Have had it almost 2 years, used very month and it has been fine.
I am sure the expensive ones must be better, but this one dies the job.
I put it on by myself in about 10 mins.
Whatever you buy do NOT leave it on the caravan while the caravan is in storage or if staying on a site for a couple of days.
Dust, dirt and leaves can then get in-between and the cover may then damage the front of the caravan as it will be acting like sandpaper as it moves up and down while travelling.
