We are not medically high risk, but we are both over 70. We take a slightly different view and even though we have a perfectly good toilet and an acceptable shower, both of which we could use, we tend not to during the day time. This is for two reasons. Firstly, we both have back problems and I have a dodgy hip, so we try to minimise any lifting and carrying. Secondly, although our shower works it is not exactly spacious.
We haven't been away in our caravan at all yet this year, and certainly won't be yet. But then we never do in August. We are using site facilities as our guide. While it is still considered unsafe to open site toilets and showers, we don't consider it safe enough for us. Maybe we are a bit paranoid, but after a really nasty bout of pneumonia a few years ago, and being someone who seems to attract every chest infection going, I am taking very few chances.
