Thinking of buying a 2010 Lunar Quaser 462 for £5,650, seller said there was some damp and there is a small mark on the wall.
He said there was a small hairline crack, resealed it and the damp has gone.
should I buy and if so will the mark clean off or be repaired.
Your advice would be very welcome.
dont take his word for it, get a damp meter and check for yourself or better still get a mobile engineer to check the caravan out, damp repairs are expensive to fix properly, the mark will not "clean off" it may eventually dry out a bit

Is there a recent damp report showing a successful repair? It would be worth getting a mobile caravan tech to carry out a pre purchase inspection. I would certainly expect the van to have a good service history and be immaculate for that price as it does sound a bit dear for a private sale where you have no warranty.
I presume you've checked that you and your car would be a suitable match for the caravan, it would be a shame to spend all that money and find that you can't tow it.
Hi Rob
Thanks for your advice, had a look at current prices of this model and year and it's the lowest the private sales price I have seen, by quite a bit and much dearer than dealerships. Which I think the current situation reflects, but I may be wrong.
He did the repair himself after advice from a mobile engineer, so your advice of an independent check sounds good.
Yes thanks on the vehicle, I'm pretty savvy on that side of it.
Thanks thanks for your advice

In October people will be selling off caravans that they purchased for their holidays as a lot of people decided on a staycation. Market will probably be flooded with good second hand caravans which is turn will push down the price.
Don't rush into a purchase unless you have had the caravan checked by an Approved Workshop Scheme technician. It will be money well spent.
At the very least get someone else in, not the friend to do a damp check only.
Hi Mick
Only spoke to the chap on the phone arranged to go on Friday aftrenoon, but from what he said, on a corner at back not sure exacly where. He was very quick to offer the information and in is 80s and I think very straight, only selling through I'll health.

On some caravans they fitted a corner cap, but not sure about Lunar. Don't forget that Lunar went into administration and closed shop so some parts may be difficult to source.
On our caravan we had hairline cracks on front and back panel and both needed to be changed. The concern here is whether the damp has beee sealed in?
If you have a mark showing on wall panel that is the tip of the iceberg usually when you remove the wall board you will find more rot behind it including framework.

Hi all who have posted, thank you for all the brilliant advice helped make our mind up, going to steer clear of the Lunar, got a damp meter to check other fans we look at and waiting until Autumn.
