Ho Folks.
My youngest just bought first caravan. Its an old Elddis jetsream Gt. (1998 we believe).
Looks half decent for an old van, with just a few niggles to sort.
Anyone point in the direction of archive manual, or other info he can get?
Two main issues he got.
1. Alko towhitch, he wants a lock for it. so many variants. Which one to buy?
2. What water filter should he get?
Any help would be appreciated folks, I am not having much joy on my search for him. Hence asking on here.
Regarding question 1, I assume you mean he's looking for a hitchlock to accommodate an AL-KO stabiliser which if this is the case then you firstly you nee to identify which AL-KO stabiliser is fitted to the hitch as like you say there are many variants. If you know what the stabiliser looks like then conduct a Google search for the AL-KO models... 1300, AKS 2000, 2004 and 3004 and see which one it is. If it's the AKS 2000 with an offset red handle then these are extremely difficult to find so second hand is the only option. All the other models are more common and easier to buy used or new.
Regarding question 2, not all caravans have a water filter (like my last 2 haven't) so best to check to see what make of water inlet it is. On a 1998 model caravan it's likely to be a Carver Compact with the two swivel pins to lock the plug into position which if it is, there were two types made which was the square inlet with no filter incorporated and a long vertical rectangular one with a round cylindrical filter directly above the plug connection.
