I have never tried moving our caravan more than a few metres with the motor mover. I can’t say for certain but my initial reaction is that your battery might not last to move it 100m. If it is a one off move then it might be possible with a fully charged battery but if you plan to do it regularly, I would be dubious about it. The motor mover requires a lot of power from the battery to drive it.
we move our twin axle Elddis 40 metres on a slight hardcore / grass slope with no problem on a fully charged battery - with it being a single axle mover it takes a lot of shunting taking upto 10 minutes if it is slippy on the grass, singe axle movers turn on a sixpence so I think you should be fine
I've moved our single axle caravan off a soft grass pitch over 100m to get to hard ground a few times (115ah battery), rather than churn to grass up pulling it off with the car.
Hi i have moved our van (1300 Kgs) complete round the caravan site once or twice due to flooding pitches on the mover with no issue. Mover is an old Enduro unit, and a 120 AH battery, and thatv was with the awning attached (minus poles of course), anf fully loadeed van after setup for a few days.
maybe take it in short hops if concerned, but should not be an issue.
it does come down to how good your battery is.. a good battery in a good state of charge should manage half a mile or more if anyone is daft enough to want to do that..
having said that not all batteries are good.. 110 amps might be what it was when new but not what it is now.. batteries lose capacity with use and time..
I've moved my van approx 50m between bays, plus all the shunting around in and out of small bays, on storage site with no difficulty. 1310Kg S/A van, 100Ah battery, Powrtouch Evolution movers, on a compacted gravel but lumpy/potholed far from smooth surface. Checked battery with a battery analyser (state of charge AND state of health/capacity) before and after move, didn't even register a difference!
Only thing I might say is any over temperature protection within motors/controller might kick in with a continuous prolonged use over distance. Mine didn't sound in the least bit strained by the task, but van weight well within 1500Kg capacity of movers.
As well as a well maintained and large enough battery, the surface you travel on can make a difference.
I sometimes have to park my caravan around the corner if the road is busy with lots of parked vehicles and use the mover to get it home from there. Luckily most of the journey to our house is on a slight downhill gradient which helps, but I feel it would easily do the same trip in the reverse direction with ease. Tarmac or concrete surface would give the best results, boggy ground or gravel will give maximum battery drain with the extra wheel resistance involved.
Dave.
