we have an island bed which can be a bit uncomfortable looking for a topper any recommendations
Can I just get a standard memory foam and cut the corners
Thanks
Get a Duvalay. Not inexpensive but you cannot put a price on a comfortable night's sleep in my opinion. We bought ours for the van and found them so comfy that we use them at home when not touring, so we get full value from them. Two singles by the way.
Duvalay topper are well over priced and are not any better than the topper bought from Dunelm at a fraction of the price. We cut off the corners and had no issue with it on our island bed.
I bought a 2.5cm memory foam topper for my mattress at home as I started to feel the springs when I turned to one side (the mattress was turned from time to time), and it worked great and saves me spending a lot more in getting a brand new mattress.

Regarding Duvalay toppers. No one ever regretted buying quality. IMHO buy cheap buy twice.
I agree about buying quality, but there are better quality toppers out there cheaper than the stuff that Duvalay sell you. Jonic do a far better topper than Duvalay and have far better custom service than Duvalay by miles and I am talking from experience.
Hi there. After a ‘sleepover’ on the drive with my youngest in our new (to us) caravan I have to get a topper for the mattress - there’s no give in it at all! So I’ve seen the custom made one on Jonic for £169.99 which I don’t mind paying if the quality is so much better than those I can buy on Amazon etc and cut down - any thoughts?
Thanks

My son has an island bed and they use a square topper and just pin the corners under with a big safety pin. This allows topper to be turned over and rotated if required. Don't know the make but it has a zipped cover and they love it.
We bought a Duvalay topper which was quite pricey and then, about a year later I bought a cheaper topper from B&M for when mum came away with us. I have to say that the cheap one is by far the most comfortable. The Duvalay one is fine but I still find the bed a bit too firm with it. I used a bread knife to cut the corners off.
We got a topper as our made up double seemed to have lumps in it. We got it from Dunelm, and although it is slightly shorter than the bed, we just removed it from its zipped covering, cut the width down by about six inches so it would fit, zipped it back in again and then covered it with a duvet cover, so it also acts as the bottom sheet and off we went to a better sleep. Cheers!
