I have a VW t4 which will find it hard to pull a twin axle. We really like the idea of a 6 berth (4 kids ) with a rear area that can be made up to 4 bunks - 2 each side. What are our options.
The adria altea 542 dk severn is nice but a bit expensive for us as we are looking sub 10K?
You need to go by weight rather than the number of axles, some single axle caravans may be heavier than twin axle models.
Firstly you need to consider the weight your van can tow safely and legally.
You also need to consider what your driving licence will allow you to tow. If you got your licence after 1997 you will be restricted to 3500kg gross train weight so your choice of caravan will be limited.
When looking at caravans with bunks check the length and weight limit of the bunks, some are only suitable for very small children and you may outgrow the caravan very quickly.
If you look at caravanfinder.co.uk you'll find caravans listed by layout which will give you an idea of which models may be suitable and within your budget.
