Looking to trade in our 2 berth caravan for a fixed bed one and really like the side island bed end bathroom layout. Due to when we passed we can get up to 1370kg mtplm unless we get our b&e licence which adds to our budget and we can't book until july-aug due to allot he tests being put back due to covid.
We've seen the xplore 554 which we really like does anyone have any experience or opinions on this?
We like the bailey phoenix 644 but it costs more and we'd need to wait for our b&e licence and we'd quite like a new van for this summer! The lunar Venus is lovely but can't find a second hand one anywhere!
Any other opinions would be great!

We've had fixed double bed vans but found the daytime quarters seemed cramped. The bed dominated too much.

Now have 2 berth Bailey Pursuit 400 and use the front settees as 2 singles using sleeping bags. We much prefer this.

Doesn't much depend on where you use the caravan most?
I always thought UK spec had more daytime space because of the increased possibility of bad weather whereas caravans used in sunnier climes had more bedroom space because you spent the majority of time outside and only went indoors to sleep.
As an example I would have thought you only sat indoors watching a tele when the weather was bad so you needed a large lounge area.
Mind you I only have a FC so shoot me down in flames!
Horses for courses I guess.

Yes generally we are outside as much as possible, even in the rain we'll try to have a day out! But sometimes on an evening if the weather is bad you are stuck in the caravan and I guess that's when the living space may play a part!

With no location on your profile, difficult to suggest where to look dealer wise. We have a Lunar fixed bed and don't find the living area cramped at all, but each to their own. Is this what you're after...https://motorhomesltd.com/product/elddis-xplore-554-2021/ also https://www.autotrader.co.uk/caravan-search?sort=price-asc&postcode=de738lr&radius........
