I have recently bought a Bailey Pageant Monarch 24/04/2003.
The weight plate numbers have completely faded.
I have been using the Manufacturers figures in the handbook to guide me which are.
Bailey
Pageant Monarch
MTPLM 1258kg
Mro 1082kg
Tyres 195/70/R14 35psi /2.4bar
The caravan has a badge on the back with ''Bailey Max Load Upgrade'' on so the figures for the Max load would have been on the Sticker?
I would like to have a new sticker with the increased weights on as there is a motor mover and other accessories on the caravan.
I have emailed Baileys, Prima Leisure (no answer yet) but have seen that they charge about £60 for a new sticker.
Has anyone had an upgrade? How much can you upgrade it by, and and increase in tyre pressures?
Can I just add, say 40kg and increase tyres by 2psi and get one printed?
Any ideas and help would be very useful.

If you crawl under caravan & look underneath axle there should be a weight rating stamped on the axle. Caravan can be uprated to that axle weight so you can make up plate giving that weight as MTPLM. Caravans are not registered as vehicles with Dvla so it is legal to make your own plate provided axle rating of caravan is not exceeded.
It is possible your tyres are marginal at that new weight so check load rating on tyres add together & that figure should exceed caravan max weight by a good margin say 100kg at least. Search online for how to read off load rating from sidewall of tyre. If load rating is too low then you need new tyres. The pressure you indicate suggests tyres are car tyres not van tyres so are probably marginal at present weight.

I have tried to get at the axle but can't get past the mover or spare wheel carrier. I will wait for a warmer day to have another look. I am 76|
The tyres are new and at the specification in the hand book.
I thought the pressure should be higher but the handbook shows 35 and it shows all the other Baileys with up to 42 as the heaviest?
I will take your advice and check the tyre rating.
I would be happy with about 40kg extra

the max pressure on my tyres is 65 psi.. i run them at 42 psi...
just to state that tyres only have to be at max pressure when they are at the max weight loading..
my van has a max weight of 11 kg.. yours is heavier so the max pressures would need to be more.. i would say at least 45 psi..

If you get pulled & weight plate is illegible then cops will go on the axle weight. They probably won’t be bothered to crawl under it & check though. If you only want another 40kg then tell them axle is rated at 1300kg which it probably is anyway.

That's a good idea. It's probably heavier than that anyway.
I am not in a hurry. 1st trip 16th May. I might get an answer from Prima Leisure?

Other people say the plate is in the middle of the axle on the back.
Stupid place. Why not on the side of the hitch?

Good news!
I crawled under the caravan and managed to use my mobile phone camera to take some photos of the small oval id. plate on back of the axle.
I have printed a photo and made a note of the details which include, capacity 1250kg
I made a mistake with the figures in my first memo above showing
MTPLM 1258kg Mro 1082kg not sure where I got them?
The correct figures for the caravan in the handbook, original brochure and online are MTPLM 1208 MRO 1027
Max load figures MTPLM 1250 MRO 1027 giving 223kg Payload up by 42kg
I'll get that printed somewhere.

why not phone bailey and ask what it was upgraded to? i'm sure caravans are usually up plated or down plated by 50kgs.
I believe a replacement plate is £50
